Message from the Headteacher

It’s been a great second week at LGGS. Our school photos went smoothly, and these will be available to purchase soon, so please keep an eye out for further details.

Looking ahead, we’re pleased to announce our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday, 6th November 5:30-7:30pm. This event is open to current Year 10 and 11 students and their families, and will be a great opportunity to explore the subjects, enrichment opportunities, and support available at LGGS Sixth Form.

Dates for your diary:

  • 16th September 2025 – Year 12 Welcome Evening
  • 18th September 2025 – Sixth Form Project day at Lancaster University
  • 22-26th September 2025 – International Week
  • 24th September 2025 – Year 10 and 11 New York trip parents information evening
  • 30th September 2025 – Year 9 Geography trip to Bowness
  • 1st October 2025 – Second Year 9 trip to Bowness

Sixth Form Societies Fair

In Sixth Form, our Year 12 students hosted a Societies Fair, offering an insight into the wide range of interests and initiatives they’re passionate about. It was wonderful to see so many students engaging with new ideas and getting involved in our Sixth Form community.

Kanteena Jazz Festival

A group of our very talented music students took part in the Lancaster Jazz Festival on Thursday night. Some students sang whilst others played a wide variety of instruments from saxophones to trumpets. Well done to everyone involved!

Yarah

Congratulations to Yarah in Year 9 for being selected for the National Age Group Development Programme through Lancaster City Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club.

Her commitment and dedication to swimming has shone through and she has smashed this past season.

Well done Yarah for working so hard to achieve this great opportunity!

Future First Alumnae Network

We have a growing Alumnae network and, as a reminder, you are able to keep in touch with school, each other and receive our termly Alumnae newsletter by signing up to Future First.

Our Alumnae also provide support to our current students through talks, mentoring or offering work experience. Further along your career path, this may be something that you wish to be involved with.
